Business Strategist Magazine has revealed a surprise winner of their Best Value Night Out – the supermarket shopping trolley!
Previously languishing at number 34 on the list, behind cow-tipping, taking a shopping trolley out for a night has jumped a record 33 places to claim the top spot on the hotly contested Best Value Night Out list. Business insiders cite the effect the Coronavirus pandemic has had on the economy and fun.
“It’s a no-brainer!” said NOBS founder, Bud Gens, without even hint of irony.
“With the impact of the Coronavirus and Lockdown, people need two things: proper laugh out loud fun, and value for money. Enter the humble shopping trolley.
“Our perennial winner, ‘going to the cinema’ can cost the bloody shirt of your back, and for what? To watch Spider-Man Infinity Reloaded Part 42? And if you have a girlfriend, which I don’t, and she wants pick’n’ mix, you’re looking at a finance agreement.
“But with a shopping trolley, the total cost is a pound coin and you can have hours of fun. Our research found that this is a new craze developing among middle-class, middle-aged, boomers, who report having races along village alleys and across cobbled pedestrianised areas.
“Some tell us that the greatest fun is terrorising groups of hoodie-wearing teens standing on street corners – and that’s all before you get to toss it in the canal at the end of the night.
“Although it’s pretty rotten when you get one with a sticky wheel and a mind of its own…or so I’m told.” Added Gens, winking creepily.
