AN ISOLATED movie studio in the Arizona desert has been chosen to film new fake scenes depicting astronauts walking on the Moon.
The company was given the good news by NASA shortly after the space agency announced its intention to return to the Moon by 2024.
Tumbleweed CEO Kevin Collins said: “The NASA guys told us we were perfect for the job, being blessed with a workforce who clearly have no compunction about breaking the law.
“In addition, our studios are well out of the public gaze and the surrounding landscape looks uncannily similar to Mare Tranquillitatis. Without sounding immodest, we tick all the boxes.”
Collins said that although Tumbleweed was a young company it was garnering an enviable reputation for producing works of breath-taking falsehood.
“Let’s just say that our finest moments to-date took place in Britain and America during 2016,” he revealed with a knowing wink.
“We’re also in the final stages of filming an audacious sequel for one of those clients, which is due to be broadcast on TV screens across the world in November.”
