Gareth Bale has updated his famous motto to ‘Wales. Golf. Madrid. Spurs. In that order.’ after his season-long loan move back to the famous Tottenham Hotspurs.
After seven years – and many hundreds of millions of pounds – at Real Madrid, Bale has finally agreed to return to his previous employers, who will fit the bill of almost a third of his wages whilst two-thirds come from the EU rescue package given to Spain.
The Welsh international himself, said, “I can’t wait to return to Tottenham. This club plucked me from obscurity, then treated me pretty much like garbage for that year when I had two left-feet and couldn’t hit a cow’s arse with a banjo.
“But then we fell in love and I carried what was, at best, a very average team, before they fell in love with £85million and sent me off to Spain.
“In honour of what they’ve done for me, I am more than happy to append their name to the end of the motto for which I am famous.
“Thus it will now read ‘Wales. Golf. Madrid. Spurs. In that order.’”
