CBBC’s Art Ninja’s Ricky Martin denies being ‘King of Latin Pop’ Ricky Martin
Hot on the heels of claims that Art Attack’s Neil Buchanan was serial graffiti vandal Banksy, now CBBC’s Art Ninja, Ricky Martin, has been forced to deny that he is snake-hipped, Puerto Rican, crooner Ricky Martin, after a theory posted online failed to go viral.
Essex Born children’s TV presenter Ricky Martin posted a statement on his Twitter feed which read: “Ricky Martin ISN’T Ricky Martin” after Charlotte Tanne, a Twitter user from Bristol, suggested that the Art Ninja host was ‘Livin’ La Vida Loca’ as a has-been 90s pop ‘sensation’.
“Ricky Martin from Art Ninja has NEVER been seen in the same room as pop singer Ricky Martin. Just sayin’,” Tweeted Ms Tanne, whose lips are devil red and has skin the colour of mocha.
The tweet gained seven half-hearted ‘likes’ from Tanne’s family and friends, but no retweets.
Martin spotted the Tweet after searching for his own name on the social media platform and said he felt obliged to clear the air after other users had queried the veracity of Ms Tanne’s Tweet.
“We’ve been inundated with literally two DMs,” read a further Tweet from the Art Ninja. “I’ve spent lockdown making pictures of animals with lentils and buying up copious amounts of bog-roll (for the inner tubes – very handy). There’s no way I’d have time to record Latin-influenced cheesy bubblegum pop records.”
Making this an unnecessary Twitter thread, Martin followed-up, stating, “I’ve literally no idea who Charlotte Tanne is but if she’s coming out with wild conspiracy theories like this, it sounds like she’s into superstition, black cats, and voodoo dolls.”
In complete and utter overkill, a third tweet to the thread added, “Please don’t believe this rumour, the information is like a bullet to your brain. Come on!”
